It was 2018 when I first started in the field services industry. For anyone interested in becoming a field inspector, your journey starts with the Society of Field Inspectors.
The barrier of entry into the field services industry is less than a few hundred dollars. If one treats this endeavor as a business, it will reward those that stick with it handsomely.
If I may pass along some words of wisdom. Take on one inspection company at a time. Get a few jobs under your belt, learn their data entry platform, whether that’s LC360 or an independent, then rinse and repeat. It’ll take time to learn the ropes.
The last thing you want to do is sign up with several inspection companies at one time only to get swamped with work and start missing deadlines, been there, done that. It’s not a fun feeling.
